Dinner Under the Downtown Lights Brings Flavor, Fun, and Community to Commercial Street

Downtown Lebanon’s second annual Dinner Under the Downtown Lights was a sold-out success, once again bringing the heart of our city to life with food, music, and local spirit. On May 31, 100 guests gathered on Commercial Street for an unforgettable evening celebrating what makes our downtown so special.
This open-air dining experience featured a four-course meal prepared by talented local chefs, showcasing the best of Lebanon’s culinary scene. From handcrafted appetizers to a classic surf and turf entrée and beautifully plated desserts, every course reflected the creativity and quality of our downtown restaurants.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed with champagne or sparkling grape juice, live music by Ben and Aaron Link of Dawson Hollow, and a lively downtown atmosphere – including local shops that stayed open late just for the occasion.
One of the night’s highlights was a live auction held during dessert. Local artist John Link created a live drawing on-site, capturing the energy of the evening in real time. Another popular item was the Downtown Experience Package, which included a night at The Shopkeeper’s Loft, dinner at Café Jude’s, golf at True Swing Golf, and over $700 in gift cards from downtown businesses.
“This event really showcases what makes downtown Lebanon so special,” said Sarah Angst, Executive Director of Downtown Lebanon. “It’s about great food, great people, and reinvesting in the place we all love.”
Proceeds from the event support the work of Lebanon Missouri Main Street Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Lebanon. Funds raised go directly toward free community events like First Fridays, beautification projects, and efforts to support the local economy and preserve the historic character of our district.
Board President Melody Allen also spoke during the evening, offering heartfelt thanks to attendees, volunteers, and the generous sponsors who made the event possible. Sponsors included Boat Town Brewing, Dr. Dawn Barker, Hogan Land Title, Jeffrey Myers, June & Beyond, Holman-Howe, LebanonNow, Vintage Flower Market, and Hudson and Sons. A special thank you goes to Eric and Sierra Sherrill of Tan A Rama, who donated beautiful floral arrangements that added a warm, inviting touch to the table settings.
Last year, Downtown Lebanon welcomed more than 600,000 visitors. Events like Dinner Under the Downtown Lights not only create lasting memories but also fuel the momentum behind our mission to make downtown a vibrant, thriving destination.
The third annual dinner is scheduled for May 2026, with tickets going on sale in mid-March. Based on the excitement from this year, they won’t last long.
Stay tuned for more upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support the continued growth of Downtown Lebanon.
